Overview
The International Youth Federation is an international non-profit youth organizations network governed by the present Statutes and the Swiss Civil Code. It is politically neutral, and non-denominational; its aim is to empower youth worldwide.

Due to persistent gender inequalities and discrimination, they are increasing challenges facing women across the world. To address their specific needs and catalyse their leadership, the IYF is working to support strengthening women’s leadership and the mainstreaming of the gender equality across the world.

Under the direct guidance of the Director, BPS the Programme Analyst contributes to the effective management of the women’s empowerment portfolios by providing substantive inputs to programme design, formulation, implementation and evaluation; and leading efforts on gender advocacy and social mobilization. She/he works in close collaboration with the programme and operations team, IYF HQ staff, Government officials, multi and bi-lateral donors and civil society ensuring successful programme implementation.


Mission Statement:
To voluntarily represent, positively promote, and uphold the mission of “Empowering youth for better world” in various programs and opportunities throughout the IYF interventions across member countries.

Responsibilities:
(A) Coordinate and provide technical support to the implementation and management of the women’s empowerment portfolio:
• Provide substantive inputs to the design and formulation of programme/ project proposals and initiatives about women’s empowerment.
• Support drafting of concept notes, background paper, briefing notes, program documentation, donor profiles, etc.
• Provide technical inputs to the annual workplan.
• Support implementation of the programme activities across member countries.
• Coordinate and provide technical support in the implementation of programme activities.
• Maintain relationships with international partners to support implementation and expansion of the women’s empowerment and leadership programme.
• Represent the IYF at relevant interagency coordination meetings as required and provide technical assistance for gender mainstreaming at HQ level.

(B) Provide substantive inputs to establishment of partnership and lead social mobilization aspects of the programme:
• Lead designing and implementation of advocacy and social mobilization aspects of the programme component in collaboration with partners, government counterparts and others as relevant.
• Formulate and maintain partnerships for programme implementation, particularly with women organizations, business leaders, community leaders and other relevant partners to promote women’s economic empowerment.

(C) Facilitate and provide substantive inputs to advocacy, knowledge building and communication efforts:
• Develop background documents, briefs and presentations related to women’s empowerment and resilience building.
• Liaise with advocacy partners and undertake outreach to civil society organizations, governments, and other groups to ensure that newsworthy information reaches the public and donors.
• Coordinate and organize advocacy campaigns, events, trainings, workshops and knowledge products.

Eligibility:

• Relevant experience in media/press or communication is required.

• High energy, maturity, and leadership with the ability to serve as a unifying force and to position communications discussions at both the strategic and tactical levels.
• Sincere commitment to work collaboratively with all constituent groups, including staff, members, volunteers and other supporters.
• Ability to interact cordially and communicate with a diverse community.
• Effective oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to assess and evaluate situations quickly, accurately and effectively.

Experience:
He/she should have experience and results at a national or international level, preferably in a gender mainstreaming role, development, communications, blogging, youth issues, sport, women empowerment, youth-led organizations or another relevant field.

Language:
Fluency in English with superior drafting skills is essential.

Assessment:
Evaluation of qualified candidates may include an assessment exercise, which may be followed by a competency-based interview.
