Overview
The International Youth Federation is an international non-profit youth organizations network governed by the present Statutes and the Swiss Civil Code. It is neutral politically, and non-denominational, aim to empower youth worldwide.

The Bureau of Governance & Policy Support (BGPS) has the responsibility for research and analyze all relevant youth policies and guidance to support the results of the IYF’s strategic interventions. BGPS’s staff provides technical advice to Country Teams; advocates for the IYF corporate messages, represents the IYF at multi-stakeholder fora including public-private dialogues, government and civil society dialogues, cooperation initiatives.

Under the overall guidance of the BGPS Director, the Communications Analyst is responsible for developing strategic communications and media initiatives; managing media/press coverage; oversees the production of a range of communications materials for the Bureau, including for the BGPS website, and for online and offline audiences. S/he is responsible for timely, accurate and high-quality informational materials, such as press releases & media advisories, news briefs, fact sheets, stories from the field etc. the Communications Analyst will collaborate closely with the Headquarters, Regional Administrations, and Country Teams to support the communications strategies and work plans of the BGPS, improving media relations and supporting outreach efforts. She/he will build and strengthen networks with strategic media partners to support the exposure of BGPS messaging across the world.

To voluntarily represent, positively promote, and uphold the mission of “Empowering youth for better world” in various programs and opportunities throughout the IYF interventions and the community.

Responsibilities:

Digital Communications Support:
• Communications strategies conceived, planned and implemented in line with corporate guidelines to enhance the positioning of the BGPS with the media, with a special focus on regional priorities and areas of concern.
• Press releases and media kits drafted and preparations.
• Maintained and expanded contacts with external partners; topics, background information, news-related developments and coverage of interest to each identified.
• Oversee and maintain BGPS outreach and produces information materials for public outreach.
• Oversees the BGPS website content and improve web presence through wide number of communications products and online promotional items.
• Create and promote the BGPS content through national, regional and global social media accounts in line with corporate social media policy.
• Drafts brochures, fact sheets, speeches, stories from the field to inform media and general public.
• Contribute to tracking the impact of BGPS media outreach and impact.

Management & Coordination Support:
• Liaise closely with the IYF HQ Communications Team \to feed regional/national initiatives into BGPS corporate communications initiatives and vice versa.
• Regular consultation with HQ Communications Section to ensure consistency with corporate policies, messaging and initiatives.
• Provide feedback to HQ communications team provided with a view to coordinate communications initiatives: informs about regional /national activities, provides comments on and inputs for corporate initiatives, and seeks advice and support.

Build Communications Partnerships and Media Alliances:
• Leads the visual impact of the BGPS Vision.
• Identifies and develops new partnerships and alliances to enhance the visibility and cement the BGPS as a thought-leader; manages and nurtures existing partnerships.
• Identifies and applies innovative opportunities and new communications tools and platforms which can serve to highlight the work of the BGPS.

Eligibility:
• Highly interest in youth empowerment issues.
• Knowledge sharing skills are required.

Experience:
Experience and results preferred at national level preferred in communication role, development, communications, blogging, youth issues, sport, women empowerment, youth-led organizations or another relevant field.

Language:
Fluency in English with superior drafting skills is essential.

Assessment:
Evaluation of qualified candidates may include an assessment exercise which may be followed by a competency-based interview.
