Overview
The International Youth Federation is an international non-profit youth organizations network governed by the present Statutes and the Swiss Civil Code. It is neutral politically, and non-denominational, aim to empower youth worldwide.

The IYF Bureau of Sports (IYFBOS) leads and supports the organization in managing a sports portfolio of related projects and activities, advocating for sports values, building and strengthening strategic relationships and alliances that are essential for advancing and successfully achieving the mission of the IYF.

Under the overall guidance of the IYF Secretary General, the Director, BOS will be responsible in supporting the IYF Senior Management in diverse aspects related to advocacy, research, analysis and capacity development in areas related to sports. S/he is also responsible for managing the implementation of the IYF Sports Programme portfolio across member countries.

Mission Statement:
To voluntarily represent, positively promote, and uphold the mission of “Empowering youth for better world” in various programs and opportunities throughout the IYF interventions across member countries.

Responsibilities:
(A) Programme Planning and Implementation:
• Develop the necessary strategic documents concerning programme planning and implementation, such as policy papers and concept notes.
• Manage/coordinate the work of the IYF Sports Working Group (IYFSWG).
• Guide the development of the portfolio’s communication strategy in close collaboration with relevant partners/departments.
• Ensure gender is integrated and mainstreamed throughout the programme outputs.
• Ensure the participation and involvement of relevant stakeholders in programme -implementation so that the process is inclusive, participatory and transparent.
• Ensure proper coordination of the programme implementation among implementing partners and with government ministries and administrations.
• Ensure sustainability of the programme intervention by promoting leadership and ownership of the programme implementation by advocating for sports for all.
• Ensure compliance with donors’ agreements.
• Promote identification and synthesis of best practices and lessons learned for organizational sharing and learning.

(B) Advocacy, Partnerships and Resource Mobilization:
• Establish and maintain partnerships with stakeholders (Government, IFs, NFs, Sports NGOs, CBOs and donors);
• Support the IYF in the mobilization of resources from different partners, including the preparation of strategies, programme briefs and project documents.
• Provide leadership and advocate to address sports-related issues.
• Represent the IYF at various technical fora related to sports and related working groups and donor working groups.

(C) Facilitating knowledge building and exchange focusing on achievement of the following results:
• Sound contributions to knowledge networks and communities of practice in the areas of sports.
• Lead the IYF Sports Working Group (IYFSWG) to ensure effective implementation of the sports programme.

Eligibility:
• Highly interest in youth empowerment and sports issues.
• Relevant communications/coordination skills are required.

Experience:
Experience and results preferred at national level preferred in sports role, youth empowerment, training, knowledge management, development, communications, international relations, capacity building, women's empowerment, public administration, public affairs, political science, international relations, business administration, law, development studies, youth-led organizations or another relevant field.

Assessment:
Evaluation of qualified candidates may include an assessment exercise which may be followed by a competency-based interview.

Language:
Fluency in English with superior drafting skills is essential.
